Embedded system tools and software company SDC Systems has announced that it is to run a series of embedded engineering workshops. The first of these will focus on the migration of software from a traditional RTOS to the Linux operating system. Working in conjunction with the leading realtime embedded Linux developer MontaVista Software, SDC Systems will hold the half-day seminar at Bracknell on the 4th November.

"Linux has proven itself in the engineering sector with up to one third of 32 and 64 bit designs now being based upon it, more than twice the share of any other embedded OS," said Stuart Parker, Managing Director of SDC Systems. "However, most software engineers will consider the moving of a project to another operating system to be a daunting task, full of u...

HDETERM68 - improved breakout for PMC, VME, cPCI

Do you need to adapt from your PMC with a SCSI connector to system wiring? The HDEterm68 provides SCSI Connector <=>Screw Terminal Block<=>SCSI connector for easy access to your high density signals. HD...

The high density 68 pin SCSI II/III connector is being used for non-SCSI interfaces because of board and front panel space limitations. In the PMC environment the SCSI connector provides an excellent size and pin count for the front panel space allowed. The SCSI connector while dense, is not easy to connect to with wiring intended to go to multiple locations.

HDEterm68 provides SCSI Connector<=>Screw Terminal Block<=>SCSI connector for easy access to your high density signals. HDEterm68 snaps together with your PMC using standard SCSI cable. The system signals are tied in with the screw terminal block. Available with latch blocks or thumb screw, horizontal, vertical or mixed connectors, with and without the DIN rail mounting system.

HDEterm68 has been u...

PENTEK'S new Software Radio PMC Module Features Industry´s Latest 16-bit 200 MHz A/Ds

Four 200 MHz 16-bit A/Ds
Integrated high-performance two- or four-channel DDC
Signal bandwidths of up to 90 MHz
Radar and wideband communications
Complete, scalable, four-channel beamfor...

Pentek, Inc., has introduced its Model 7153 digital down converter (DDC), a four-channel, high-speed digitizer PMC module designed for processing baseband RF or IF signals from a communications receiver. This is the only available product of its kind that employs the new ADS5485 A/D Converter just released by Texas Instruments. Four of these 200 MHz, 16-bit monolithic A/Ds in the front end of the Model 7153 deliver a previously unattainable combination of speed and resolution. In addition, these new A/Ds exhibit a signal-to-noise ratio of 75 dBFS and a spurious-free dynamic range of 87 dBc at a 70 MHz input frequency.

"Building upon its Model 7150 hardware platform, Pentek has developed and installed full-function FPGA IP cores to create a series of turnkey solutions addressin...
