VMETRO, a leader in embedded computing solutions based on standards such as VXS, VPX, XMC and FMC that utilize multi-gigabit serial interconnects, today announced a new generation user programmable FPGA XMC/PMC module with fiber-optic transceivers. The XMC-FPGA05F, a follow-on to the very successful PMC-FPGA03F, incorporates the Xilinx® Virtex®-5 FPGA with four front panel fiber-optic transceivers in air- or conduction-cooled versions. The popularity of high-speed serial interconnects in embedded real-time DSP systems and the effectiveness of FPGAs to interface to sensor I/O makes the XMC-FPGA05F ideal for demanding real-time applications such as remote sensor interfaces, data recorders, and embedded real-time distributed computing.

The XMC-FPGA05F features a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA,...

Eurotech has been working with Intel Corporation as an early adopter of Low Power Intel® Architecture (LPIA) devices. As a result of this work Eurotech have now released the new PROTEUS single board computer.

The PROTEUS is available in two configurations, allowing it to be deployed either as a stand-alone device, or as a COM Express module.

In either version, PROTEUS offers all the benefits of Intels´ embedded Atom processor, providing levels of functionality and performance traditionally requiring a high performance x86 board, but at a fraction of the power previously needed for comparable systems. Featuring soldered down RAM and Flash memory, coupled to the extremely low heat generation of the Atom processor, PROTEUS is perfect for applications needing high end ...

MEN Mikro Elektronik GmbH

Certification according to EN 9100

In September 2008, after an intensive preparatory phase, MEN Mikro Elektronik has been officially certified according to EN9100 as a supplier for the aviation and space industry. As accredited partner, MEN chose the DQS ...

The high and at the same time very individual requirements in aviation demand extremely reliable products, which have to prove themselves over many years in rugged industrial environments, as well as a close cooperation with the customer from the design phase until the after-sales support over a period of ten years or longer. The quality management system according to EN9100 takes these requirements into account. It includes the DIN EN ISO 9001 but adds more than 80 items which focus on the specific requirements of the aviation and space industry. These are e.g. the inclusion of the quality management requirements of the aviation authorities, the introduction of a configuration management process tailored to the product, first article inspection (FAI), risk assessment, verification managem...
