VMETRO, a leader in embedded computing solutions based on standards such as VXS, VPX, XMC and FMC that utilize multi-gigabit serial interconnects, today announced the availability of the industry´s largest capacity 6U VPX buffer memory board. The MFC700 is a 6U VPX-REDI buffer memory node with support for up to 16GB of memory on the baseboard, dual XMC mezzanine sites and support for Serial RapidIOT (sRIO) fabric. Designed for applications that buffer large amount of high-speed data, the MFC700 can be utilized in signal and image processing applications, as well as data recording subsystems. Uses of buffer memory include high-speed temporary storage, interleaving, data aggregation and warehousing or the need for additional system memory through a fabric.

The MFC700 supports u...

PMC-Parallel-TTL-BA16 : cos, dma, fifo, pll

The PMC-Parallel-TTL design has been updated with a user specific version. The "BA16" has the standard features of 64 bitwise programmable TTL IO, and COS processing on the inputs. Two parallel, programmable DMA - FIF...

Do you need a simple, easy to use parallel port to go with your register based TTL IO? The PMC Parallel TTL BA16 has two byte wide ports with FIFO buffering and PLL clock control. Each port has independent input and output capabilities. Each of the 64 IO can be programmed to be register based IO with COS or state-machine based [for the 32 IO used with the parallel ports]. Each IO is programmable allowing for ports smaller than 8 bits wide. The parallel ports have a clock and strobe reference.

If you need something "just like but different" please contact Dynamic Engineering for your customerized version.

VMETRO, a leader in embedded computing solutions based on standards such as VXS, VPX, XMC and FMC that utilize multi-gigabit serial interconnects, today announced a new generation user programmable FPGA XMC/PMC module with fiber-optic transceivers. The XMC-FPGA05F, a follow-on to the very successful PMC-FPGA03F, incorporates the Xilinx® Virtex®-5 FPGA with four front panel fiber-optic transceivers in air- or conduction-cooled versions. The popularity of high-speed serial interconnects in embedded real-time DSP systems and the effectiveness of FPGAs to interface to sensor I/O makes the XMC-FPGA05F ideal for demanding real-time applications such as remote sensor interfaces, data recorders, and embedded real-time distributed computing.

The XMC-FPGA05F features a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA,...

RapiTime v2.1 Reduces The Cost of Measuring The Execution Time of Real-Time Systems

Rap[itime allows developers of real-time systems to demonstrate that their applications meet real-time requirements at a much lower cost than using the conventional approach....

Rapita Systems, the leader in measurement-based worst- case execution time analysis solutions, announced the availability of RapiTime v2.1 from today. This tool suite allows developers of real-time systems to demonstrate that their applications meet real-time requirements at a much lower cost than using the conventional approach.

One of the challenges faced by the developers of real-time embedded software is to show that the software meets time (performance) requirements. This is normally done with an effort-intensive manual process. RapiTime v2.1 reduces the cost and effort of measuring software performance by automating the most effort-intensive activities: the instrumentation of code and analysis of timing traces that result from running the instrumented code on the target plat...

Software algorithms compile easily for VMETRO FPGA PMC module via new Impulse C integration

Integration accelerates video, signal and data processing development...

VMETRO and Impulse Accelerated Technologies, Inc. today announced their first collaborative integration enabling software engineers to easily interface C code to FPGA hardware and firmware components on a widely used VMETRO FPGA PMC module. This integration provides C callable FPGA interfaces to the PMC firmware components, including QDR SRAM, DDR2 SDRAM and the PCI bus. In support of VMETRO´s installed base, the initial Impulse C support for VMETRO PMC boards targets the PMC-FPGA02, a Xilinx® Virtex®-II FPGA PMC. Integration with VMETRO´s Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA-based products will follow.

The integration of Impulse CT with VMETRO PMC modules allows application developers to focus on their algorithms, rather than on the details of hardware and firmware integration. Instead...
